With Sunday marking the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, America came together to grieve and remember with gatherings, memorials and tributes around the country -- and online. Not surprisingly, celebrities -- from Anderson Cooper to Kim Kardashian and LeAnn Rimes -- got in on the action by taking to their Twitter feeds and personal sites to add their own thoughts and tributes.

Anderson Cooper, on the ground at Ground Zero, twittered: "On the air right now at the world trade site. Families of those killed are gathering. It is a beautiful memorial."

Ellen Degeneres twittered: "Ten years ago today, the world changed. I hope everyone finds time to remember those we lost… and to tell someone that you love them."

Denise Richards tweeted: "my thoughts and prayers are with all the families & loved ones affected by the devastating tragedy of 9/11 We will never forget...."

Lil Wayne wrote: "Remembering those we lost on this unforgettable day. God bless their families and may their souls rest in peace."

Demi Moore took to her popular Twitter feed to write: "Today on #9/11 as we take pause to honor and remember the loss let's us also connect and hold the love that heals and unites us!"

John Stamos tweeted: "love will always conquer hate. #GodblessAmerica"

Former Hills star and current fashion designer Lauren Conrad, who was in middle school in 2001, wrote on her personal blog: "I would like to take today to remember and honor all those affected by 9/11. My heart goes out to all the victims and their families. And thank you to all the heroes who sacrificed their lives on that fateful day."

Newlywed and sometime New Yorker Kim Kardashian took to her Twitter feed, to write: "My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families affected by the awful tragedy of 9/11."

Glee star and native New Yorker Lea Michele tweeted: "To all the families and people of New York affected by the tragedies of September 11th my thoughts and prayers go out to you."

Director Kevin Smith, a native of New Jersey, twittered: "My heart goes out to all the families and friends of the people in both the planes and the buildings who were murdered 10 years ago today."

Country star LeAnn Rimes tweeted: "Sending out prayers for those who lost loved one's on this day 10 years ago. Praying that it gets less painful as the years go on."

Denis Leary, who plays a firefighter on the FX show Rescue Me, as well as running the Leary Firefighters Foundation, tweeted an emotional tribute to the firefighters who lost their lives on September 11: "Paddy Brown. Timmy Higgins. John Moran. Just 3 of the 343 who gave their lives that day. Never forget. Always remember."

We will, Denis. We will never forget.
