Fresh off of the legalization of gay marriage in the state of New York, Neil Patrick Harris has announced that he's ready to marry longtime partner David Burtka.
The multi-talented star took to Twitter to share the joyous news, as he wrote on Saturday (June 25), ?David and I did propose to each other, but over five years ago! We?ve been wearing engagement rings for ages, waiting for an available date."
Neil, who shares young twins with his husband-to-be, was understandably a staunch supporter of the gay marriage bill, as he did his best to encourage voters by tweeting the previous day, "I'd sure love to get married. Please, NY Senate, vote in favor of marriage equality today. My family would really appreciate it."
Once news of the successful effort was announced, Patrick Harris joyously posted, "It PASSED! Marriage equality in NY!! Yes!! Progress!! Thank you everyone who worked so hard on this!! A historic night!?
