Charlie Sheen has a disease, and not the kind one may contract when hanging out with porn stars such as Bree Olson and Kacey Jordan.
Speaking to Great Britain's Sky News this week, father Martin Sheen came to the defense of his troubled son, describing his battles with drugs and alcohol as akin to what one faces when inflicted with any disease.
"He's an extraordinary man," the veteran actor said. "If he had cancer, how would we treat him? The disease of addiction is a form of cancer, and you have to have an equal measure of concern and love and lift them up, so that's what we do for him."
