Rupert Grint Plans To Get Into 'Extreme Sports' After 'Harry Potter'

'I'm going to do some dangerous things,' he tells MTV News at the New York premiere of 'Deathly Hallows - Part 1.'

When Emma Watson was released from her "Harry Potter" contract, she was quick to run out and cut off all her hair. She told MTV News at the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1" premiere Monday night (November 15) that her new pixie cut is about as wild as she's willing to go, but now that her co-star Rupert Grint is free, he said he was ready to be a bit more extreme.

"I suppose I can do dangerous sports, like extreme sports, now, which I could never do [because of the contract]," Grint told MTV News' Josh Horowitz. "I'm going to do some dangerous things."

The two dangerous things he mentioned wanting to do are on opposite ends of the intensity spectrum: Grint said he wanted to "jump out of a plane" or ski. "I've never skied, because I was always filming and stuff," he explained.

Fortunately for Grint, he'll probably be getting a good amount of experience with skiing soon, considering he's been tapped to play British Olympic ski jumper Eddie Edwards in the upcoming film "Eddie the Eagle." Edwards was the first skier to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping and at the time held the record for ski jumping. The biopic is set to be released in 2011.

But apparently Grint's "Potter" contract also kept him from a lot of things, like getting his tonsils removed. "I've only just had my tonsils taken out as well, which was really needed," he said with a laugh. "I had massive, massive tonsils."
