Brooke Mueller, the soon-to-be-ex-wife of Charlie Sheen, checked herself into a sober living facility on Saturday. According to her mother, Mueller, 33, voluntarily entered rehab in order to battle her addictions while her family is out of town.
"She is struggling with her sobriety and we are going away on a cruise so we feel better that she will be there when we are gone," says Mueller's mother Miora Fiore. "It is a facility for very wealthy people trying to fight addictions. Brooke is really trying to get her life back."
Mueller, the mother of Sheen's twenty-month-old twins Max and Bob, is in the midst of divorce proceedings. She is also in the midst of filming a reality show for the Oxygen Network with Paris Hilton -- which probably didn't help with that whole 'staying sober' thing. Indeed, her mother tells People that Mueller exited the show temporarily in order to enter rehab.
"Paris and the other girls on the show are going to Las Vegas and Brooke did not feel she could handle it now," says Fiore. "She was scared."
Another source tells E! that Mueller entered rehab as a precautionary measure: "She didn't use, she just felt weak and didn't want to relapse... The holidays are hard for her."
We're not surprised that Mueller has some holiday-based anxiety, seeing as she had Sheen arrested last Christmas for allegedly threatening her with a knife. Shortly after that shocking incident, both Sheen and Mueller checked themselves into rehab -- although at the time, Mueller's lawyer claimed she was going for "rest" rather than addiction rehab.
Charlie Sheen filed for divorce from Brooke Mueller at the beginning of November, shortly after his possibly-drunken, possibly-violent incident at the Plaza Hotel.
